Darya Efrat (DE/IL)

She makes performances and installations that move with, between, and in relation to space, material, and others. Emerging from violent histories and multi-generational migration, the works attempt to reconcile questions concerning identity, gender, and belonging. Her practice is nurtured by many people along the way and at Columbia University in New York’s visual arts and anthropology departments and supported by the Master in New Performative Practices at the Stockholm University of the Arts.
Her prototype is Porøs. (time 1h)
Porøs has been developed in an immersion residency in Helsingør, hosted by Helsingør Teaterin Denmark with local partners U/NORD, Hal 16 Martime Workshop Association and commercial fisher Søren Jacobsen.
Porøs is a guided, offbeat, and poetic tour of Helsingør but transposed to another place than Helsingør.
A group embarks on a silent journey that connects us to the sea (even if there is no sea), to boats (even if there are none), and perhaps to something deeper.
Slowness and silence make room for what is more discreet, less visible.
This guided walk is designed as an opportunity to offer oneself the time to be a poet.
Through the prism of departure and transition, we will look at things anew, and consider the physical, and perhaps even the mystical, connections between boats, the sea, and us.
The duration of the journey may vary, depending on the group’s experiences along the way. It is around one hour but can me more...
