It is a Portuguese company specialising in high-quality dried salted cod, founded in 1993. Combining centuries-old drying techniques with modern technology, Grupeixe focuses on quality over mass production, working primarily with cod from the North Atlantic and Norway.
In 2019, the Icelandic company VSV acquired Grupeixe, creating a fully integrated production chain — from sustainable fishing in Icelandic waters to final processing in Portugal. This partnership ensures optimal freshness and traceability.
Inside the factory, skilled workers handle the fish with precision and care, maintaining food safety standards while preserving traditional gestures. Their work reflects both technical expertise and respect for the product, embodying Grupeixe’s commitment to craftsmanship and excellence.
