Ivica Mitrović is an associate professor at the Department of Visual Communication Design at the Academy of Arts in Split. Since 2001, he has been working on the promotion and introduction of interaction design, and critical and speculative design as new specializations in the field of design in Croatia and the region. Together with Oleg Šuran, he was the curator of the Croatian presentation at the International exhibition La Triennale di Milano (2016). He coordinated the European project SpeculativeEdu, which dealt with education in the field of speculative design and related practices. He was the curator of the discursive program representing the Republic of Croatia at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2023. He is the author and editor of several books dealing with contemporary reflexive and critical design practice.
