Jadranka Šepić (HR)

Scientist, The Faculty of Science in Split
Exploration time 4 Split

Jadranka Šepić is a professor of Environmental Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Split. Jadranka is dedicated to researching extreme sea levels, especially meteotsunamis. However, she is also interested in storm surges, tsunamis and other sea level fluctuations that can lead to extremes. She is particularly interested in historical sea level extremes and is most excited when she finds a lost account of a flood or learns of a legend about a flood (these do exist!).
She is also a European Research Council grantee and has led three other projects focused on extreme sea levels.
She received her Master and PhD degrees from the University of Zagreb, worked at the Institute of Oceanography (also in Split) and spent a year abroad at the University of the Balearic Islands in Palma de Mallorca and at the Institute of Ocean Science on Vancouver Island, in beautiful British Columbia
