The municipality of Ilhavo and LEME festival (PT)

It is associated as the local cultural implementation of the project in Portugal, especially for the testing and collective sharing part.

The Municipality of Ílhavo is the local management body of this municipality and is responsible for promoting the development of the municipality in all areas of life, such as health, education, social action and housing, the environment and basic sanitation, land use planning and urban planning, transport and communications, public supply, sport and culture, consumer protection and civil protection. The municipality is also responsible for the local cultural policies, presenting two specific departments on culture and heritage: 23 Milhas, related to performing and visual arts and responsible to manage the four cultural venues and regular programmes; and the Maritime Museum, focusing on maritime heritage and sustainability. The local partner for the connection with the firms is the Municipality of Ílhavo.
The cultural department of the municipality (23 Milhas) is a partner of Bússola to promote the LEME festival, based on a collaborative approach, Bússola builds artistic programmes and international relations. LEME is an innovative festival that explores new languages of contemporary circus and artistic creation for unconventional spaces in search of different creative approaches in confrontation with experimentation. It aims to engage new contexts, broaden artistic contact to new languages, transform the community’s view of the circus, create opportunities for new generations to contact, experience and observe distinct international artistic visions.
