Helsingør Teater presents 400 activities every year and organises PASSAGE Festival, one of the largest international street theatre festivals in Northern Europe. Helsingør Teater is a member of several European and Nordic networks and programmes, including The Creative Europe Programme, Erasmus+, Circostrada, Perform Europe, Nordic Baltic Circus Network, and Danish Contemporary Circus. Within the Copenhagen greater region, Helsingør Teater has been a part of strategic development collaborations with Sweden since 2004.
Since 2018, Helsingør Teater has overseen the artistic programme and development of SO Festival in the UK, supported by Arts Council England. Local relevance, collaboration, public accessibility and high artistic quality is the cornerstone of all activities. Helsingør Teater presents artistic programmes in a collaborative strategic effort with social housing organisations and municipalities, presenting new formats of non-language based performing arts in social housing areas that engage local communities with no cultural experience in the artistic process. Helsingør Teater has developed sustainable strategies within Nordic cooperation, for a transversal distribution of international artistic work to other sectors such as tourism, commerce, businesses and others.
