(France)

Le Palc-Pôle National Cirque Châlons-en-Champagne (the lead partner) is a national centre of Circus production that is a French ministry label. After three years of prefiguration, Le Palc was awarded the label "Pôle National Cirque" by the Ministry of Culture in 2019. It aims to be a reference centre for circus innovation for professionals in the circus world.
Le Palc is part of a desire to encourage the structuring of the circus discipline, to support its artistic development and to bring this field to the widest possible audience. It participates in the renewal of artistic forms and aesthetics of the circus, thanks in particular to the gathering of 13 reference establishments active in supporting the creation, production and distribution of the circus arts on French territory.
In this way, Le Palc is working to develop new forms of circus axes. The first one is to support contemporary circus creators providing them a workspace, a financial contribution, a direct support for personnel and technical equipment and logistical support.
The second axis of Le Palc’s work is to present and support through residencies, artistic works, especially contemporary circus in public space. Its final axis is dedicated to educational and artistic actions in connection with schools, inhabitants and circus artists. Each year, the Palc accompanies around fifty creation and distribution projects through various events, including the Furies festival, a national and international reference for performing art in public space.
Le Palc is newly part of the Circostrada network.
