Passage Festival 30 July-3 August 2024
Organised by Helsingør Teater (DK)
Held annually in the coastal city of Helsingør, Passage Festival is one of Denmark’s leading international festivals for street and site-specific performing arts. For over two decades, it has transformed urban and coastal spaces into vibrant stages for contemporary creation. The event brings together artists from around the world to explore new formats of public engagement through performance, installation, and participatory art.
Rooted in the local context while reaching out globally, Passage Festival is known for its strong curatorial focus on social relevance, community interaction, and artistic experimentation. From the harbour to historical courtyards, the festival reimagines the city through encounters between artists and inhabitants, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, inclusion, and cultural dialogue. Passage Festival plays an active role in the transformation of Helsingør’s former industrial harbour into a green and cultural public space.
